Donata Galluccio PTMA is PhysioDynamics’ director and founder. She is a licensed physical therapist with over twenty-five years’ experience specializing in pelvic floor dysfunction and sexual problems. She founded the original PhysioDynamics practice in Adelaide, Australia, and developed it into six thriving clinics. These private practices specialized in pediatrics, women’s health, orthopedics, workplace safety and rehabilitation. Before opening the New York office of PhysioDynamics as a private practice
in 2002, she was director of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation in
the Metropolitan area at the Hebrew Hospital Home and
the Jewish Home & the Hospital for Aged.

Respected for her warm, indepth approach and acute interpretive skills,
Ms. Galluccio is a popular lecturer at medical associations, professional groups and lay audiences. Multilingual — fluent in English and Italian, with
a working knowledge of Spanish and French — she communicates easily with patients from diverse cultural backgrounds. Ms. Galluccio is also an active professional member of these professional organizations (see resources):

  • American Physical Therapy Association (APTA)
  • American Urogynecological Society (AUGS)
  • American Urological Association (AUA)
  • Consortium for Improvement in Erectile Dysfunction (CIEF)
  • International Pelvic Pain Society (IPPS)
  • International Society for the Study of Women’s Sexual Health (ISSWSH)
  • Interstitial Cystitis Society (ICA)
  • National Association for Continence (NAFC)
Ms. Galluccio first trained in Australia, a country renowned for outstanding physical therapy education, and later received an MA degree in Ergonomics and Occupational Biomechanics from New York University.

Early in her career she benefited from close association with several international experts (see Pioneers) who heavily influenced her multidisciplinary approach to pelvic therapy:

  • Geoff Maitland, a physiotherapist and lecturer at the University of South Australia who developed one of the standard approaches to spinal manipulation and authored the well-known books, Vertebral Manipulation and Peripheral Manipulation.
  • Vladimir Janda, an inspirational Czechoslovakian neurologist responsible for advancing muscle physiology, muscle imbalances and their association with chronic pain syndromes.
  • Olaf Evjenth, physical therapist and a former Norwegian shot putter who codeveloped the Orthopaedic Manual Therapy Kaltenborn–Evjenth System now being taught in 17 countries.

Thanks to both Ms. Galluccio’s training with world class experts and to the breadth of her own clinical experience, PhysioDynamics offers an exceptionally comprehensive approach to pelvic therapy. Few other practices represent this level of expertise in joint manipulation and myofascial treatment, which, in combination with acute interpretive skills, ensures that every patient receives individualized treatment — and the best options for improvement.
